Meat Lasagna

I like to cook. Cooking is fun and it is especially fulfilling when others enjoy the food. But to decide what to cook is another story. If you are like me, the main chef of the house, you must know what I mean. I rarely repeat what I cook day after day. Variety is important to me and my family. No one likes to eat the same food day after day.

Whenever I try to solicit ideas from my kids about what to have for dinner, the number one answer from my daughter is: spaghetti, or pasta. She would never get bored with anything pasta with tomato sauce. So, with no other idea for dinner, we go for meat lasagna.

for a 9x13 inches baking dish
Ingredients:

about 1 lb ground beef
9 pieces lasagna noodle
1 jar (1lb10oz)spaghetti sauce, any flavor you like
1 jar (8oz) tomato sauce
cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp  dried oregano
1 tbsp olive oil

1)  Preheat oven to 375 F.
2)  In a large skillet or pan, heat olive oil and saute garlic. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Add oregano, spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce and cook for about 5 minutes.

3)  Cook lasagna noodle following package instruction, about 8 minutes. Drain.
4)  Spoon some of the meat sauce on the bottom of the dish.

5)  Put one layer of noodle on top of the sauce.

6)  Put a layer of meat sauce on top, following by a layer of cheese.

7)  Repeat with the rest of the noodles, sauce and cheese. Cover with a piece of aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

8)  After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue to bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles.

9)  Rest for 10 minutes and serve warm.
